I am a computational biologist at a synthetic biology company. I recently got my PhD studying the genetics of natural variation in yeast.
This blog is about my eclectic scientific interests — the infinitely varied behaviors of microbes and biomolecules, the surprisingly simple patterns revealed in them by thoughtful analysis, and the potential societal benefits from engineering biology.
Occasionally, this is also about the daily slog of being a scientist.
The name is an homage to Monod and Jacob’s discovery and a reflection on change.
