I am a postdoc interested in using metabolic and enzyme engineering to solve problems in sustainability. Previously I was a computational biologist at a biotech company, and before that, a PhD student studying the genetics of natural variation in yeast.
This blog is about my eclectic scientific interests: the various behaviors of microbes and molecules, the simple patterns revealed in them by thoughtful analysis, and the potential societal benefits from engineering biology. It is also about the daily slog of being a scientist.
The name is an homage to Monod and Jacob’s discovery and a reflection on change.
